FRANCIS M. SCOTT, son of John and Rachel SCOTT, was born in Lancaster township, Butler county, in 1821. He was reared on the homestead farm, and lived with his parents
until 1844, when he married Mary LUEBBEN, of Lancaster township, purchased the homestead from his father, and has since resided upon it. Five children were the fruits of this union, as follows: Elizabeth C., deceased; Theodore, a missionary in India; Walter; Mary, and John.
Mr. Scott is a Republican, in politics, but takes no active interest in political matters. He is an elder in the United Presbyterian church, also superintendent of the Sabbath school.
